HABIT is a community group of volunteers working together to explore the circumstances and consequences of the human-animal bond and to promote this valuable bond between people and animals. HABIT is comprised of representatives from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, volunteers from the community, and private veterinary practitioners.

The Alzheimer’s Association Mid South Chapter
The Alzheimer’s Association Mid South Chapter serves 116 counties in Tennessee, Alabama, Arkansas and Virginia with offices in Nashville, Memphis, Johnson City, Chattanooga, Knoxville, and Huntsville. Since 1980, the Chapter has provided reliable information and care consultation; created supportive services for families; increased funding for dementia research; and influenced public policy changes. Today, the Alzheimer’s Association serves over 196,000 people in Alabama and Tennessee affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, as well as over 717,000 caregivers.
